Each month Student Activities and the Mathematics Department will sponsor a math puzzle contest. The whole college community is encouraged to attempt the puzzle each month. All correct answers sent in by students will qualify for the monthly drawing of $50.
What is a Sudoku?
A sudoku is a number puzzle consisting of a 9x9 grid, divided into nine 3x3 boxes. The word sudoku comes from the Japanese word meaning “single number” because just one number goes in each cell. What do I do after I figure out the answer?
Completed puzzles can be dropped off at the Student Activities Office in College Hall, or the Math Department Office in Parkhouse Hall. Puzzles can also be mailed to Mark McFadden, Parkhouse 151.
