CERTIFICATE IN AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY

Purpose:

The Automotive Technology Certificate program is designed to
prepare the graduate for employment in an entry level automobile
service/repair trainee position. All of the courses that are
successfully completed can be applied toward an associate degree
in Automotive Technology.

Program Objectives:

Upon the successful completion of the Automotive Technology
Certificate program, the graduate should be able to:
--demonstrate the skills necessary to obtain an entry level
position as an automotive service/repair trainee.
--demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills needed to continue
the educational process toward more advanced training leading
to career advancement.
--demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills needed to enter into
an Automotive Technology Associate Degree program.

Special Admissions Requirements:
A. High school diploma or GED.
B. Mathematics placement at the MAT 115 level or equivalent.
C. Complete placement tests in English and Reading and place
above the developmental level. Students who place within the
developmental level must successfully complete the required
developmental courses with a grade of "C" or better.
D. The admissions requirements for the A.A.S. degree in
Automotive Technology also apply to the Certificate program.
