CADD Technology (A.A.S.)
- prepare layouts and working drawings according to civil, industrial, and architectural standards.
- present technical information in graphic form using manual and CAD skills.
- create accurate design drawings for objects that are to be manufactured, fabricated, and constructed.
- demonstrate the skills needed to obtain a career position in architectural or engineering drafting.
- demonstrate project engineering skills including good oral communication and technical writing proficiency.
Purpose
The Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Technology program prepares the student for positions in electrical, mechanical, civil, architectural or engineering drafting and design. The primary objective of the program is to teach students how to apply basic through advanced techniques and tools in graphically representing engineered products and plans. Great emphasis is placed on developing Computer-Aided Drafting and Design skills. Students are prepared for positions as: mechanical, civil and structural, architectural, and product drafts-designers.
