SECONDARY EDUCATION (A.A.)

Purpose:

The Secondary Education program is designed to permit students
to complete the first two years of a four year baccalaureate
degree program and transfer to a four year college or university.

This program is divided into three distinct areas:
a. liberal arts courses
b. professional education courses
c. specific subject matter courses.

Program Objectives:

A graduate should be able to:
--transfer to a four year degree institution.
--select among career options open to an individual in the areas
of secondary education.
--explain and illustrate basic educational concerns such as
tenure laws, teaching techniques and organization and
administration within the school and classroom setting.
--understand the roles and responsibilities of a secondary.

--demonstrate knkowledge of certification and tenure
