Business Administration (A.S.)
International Option

Purpose

The International Option of the Business Administration (A.S.) transfer degree program is designed primarily for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in an International Business, or in one of the disciplines in the field of business (for example, accounting, finance, management, marketing, human resources management, information systems, etc.) with an international focus. (Note: All courses taken as part of the certificate in International Studies program will apply to this degree. To confirm transferability of elective courses, students should review these course selections with their intended 4-year transfer institution.)

Program Objectives

A graduate should be able to:

  • meet all requirements to enter the third year of a baccalaureate program in business administration or international business with little or no loss of credits.
  • demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills needed to continue the educational process toward more advanced business training leading toward career advancement.
  • demonstrate college level proficiency in mathematics, reading, writing and information systems.
  • demonstrate an understanding of the American economic and business system, of basic accounting principles, and of mathematical and statistical analysis.
  • demonstrate an understanding of international issues and perspectives including:
    • knowledge of modern history and of politics and societies in the world outside the United States.
    • an appreciation of global diversity and global interdependence.
    • cultural differences in the workplace and in the local and world community.
    • a basic understanding of one foreign language.
