Humanities (A.A.)

Purpose

The Humanities program is designed primarily for transfer to a four year college or university, where the student may major in English, language, philosophy, art, journalism, and/or pre-law. Humanities graduates frequently enter the fields of education, government, law and/or business./

Program Objectives

A graduate should be able to:

  • gain an understanding of the vocabulary and major concepts in the disciplines of art, literature, mathematics, natural science, social science and physical education and health.
  • understand and describe the culture of western civilization.
  • develop an understanding and perspective of people and society.
  • think analytically.
  • logically organize and support ideas.
