Core Director's Credential Certificate
This program is designed for directors of child care centers, assistant directors, or those aspiring for directors’ positions who are interested in obtaining the Core Director's Certificate. Upon completion of three courses (listed below), directors must send proper documentation to the PA Key, which then issues the Certificate. These three courses satisfy Pennsylvania's requirements for the Core Direct Certificate.
Pre-Requisite Education and/or Experience
- bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and one year experience working with children; or
- bachelor's degree, including 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and two years experience working with children; or
- associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and three years experience working with children; or
- associate's degree in any other field, including 30 credit hours of early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field and four years experience working with children
