IDS 115 The Myth of Race
Credits: 3.00This course analyzes the realities and mythologies that surround the issues of race in the modern world. The methods and findings of anthropology, biology, history, and other disciplines are used to define the concept of race and examine its meaning, nature, and significance. The topics considered in the course will also include the uses and misuses of knowledge in the study of race, the relationship between inequality and race, race in the modern media, and the possibilities of finding solutions to the problems of race. Throughout the course an attempt will be made to integrate the different disciplines and develop general intellectual skills.
IDS 138 Creativity and Innovation
Credits: 3.00The aim of this course is to provide understanding of the theories and research associated with creative thinking. It is designed to develop techniques and skills for innovation and effective problem solving applied to real life issues. As the world changes in complexity, creativity becomes increasingly one of the most important personal and business strategies for survival and success.
