Faculty Assessment
The College’s commitment to assessment is reflected in its Mission Statement: “(Thus) to fully meet our mission, the College participates in ongoing self-assessment and review in order to enhance and improve instructional programs and services to students and the county we serve.”
Faculty are strongly encouraged to become familiar with all of the College’s assessment initatives and to participate in those assessment initiatives that have been specifically designed to help them improve their teaching and to ensure student success.
Course Assessment
Faculty have many opportunities to learn about best practices in assessment at the course-level, including Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs), the course portfolio, and student feedback analysis.Program Assessment
Faculty actively participate in academic program assessment and planning through the Academic Program Review (APR) process and through the development of individual program assessment plans.Assessment Committee
Through the work of the College-wide Assessment Committee, faculty play a major role in overseeing and providing guidance to all student outcome assessment activities, including the updating and monitoring of the Student Learning Assessment Plan.
College Assessment
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness monitors the progress of the College on meeting a number of key performance indicators, including student enrollment, persistence from semester to semester, and successful completion of highly enrolled courses.
