Honors
Admission Requirements
The admission requirements for Honors at Montgomery County Community College are:
For the recent high school graduate:*
Any two of the following:
1. High school cumulative grade point average of 3.5
2. Top 15% of high school graduating class
3. Top 15% scorer in College Placement Tests
4. Personal interview with the Honors Coordinator
For the current and transfer student:*
1. A 3.2 grade point average from the previous semester with a minimum of 12 credits or the top 15% in College Placement
2. At least two (2) faculty recommendations
3. Personal interview with the Honors Coordinator
In order to remain in the program, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.25.
*No single criterion is inflexible. All standards will be taken into consideration in evaluating students for admission to the program.
Note: Qualified students may enroll in Honors sections without being enrolled in the Honors Program
