Montgomery County Community College, recognizing and rewarding outstanding academic achievement, has established 25 Honors Program Scholarships to assist students in realizing their educational goals. Twenty of the full-tuition scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors; five of the scholarships will be for students not enrolling in the college directly from high school. To be eligible for consideration for the scholarships, high school students must satisfy at least two of the following criteria:
- Have earned a B+ or 3.5 grade point average or better
- Are ranked in the top 15% of their high school class
- Have scored in the top 15% of the College Placement Tests
Applications will be considered on the basis of high school academic achievement, county geographical diversity and community and school service.
The requirements for those students not coming directly from high school are
as follows:
- Have a 3.2 or higher GPA based on 12 college credits
- Have scored in the top 15% of the College Placement Tests
- Have an interview with the Honors Coordinator
The scholarships will be awarded to the recipients for four (4) consecutive Fall and Spring semesters provided the students maintain satisfactory academic and disciplinary standing.
