International Studies

    International Studies Certificate

    The International Studies Certificate is designed to prepare people to live and work in the global society of the 21st century. The Certificate program is designed as an area of concentration to be taken with an associate's degree and to prepare for transfer to a four-year school. The certificate may also be pursued as a one-year (30 credit hours) course of study.

    The Certificate

    • provides knowledge of the modern history, political systems, and social issues outside the United States
    • provides deeper appreciation for global diversity and interdependence
    • provides preparation for living and working abroad, as well as advanced formal study
    • provides insights into cultural differences as they affect the workplace at home and abroad
    • provides experience in understanding a foreign language and culture

    Admissions

    Anyone is welcome to apply to MCCC and the Certificate Program. A student may enroll as a full-time or a part-time degree student. All students are required to meet with the coordinator for individualized advising.
