Student with Tutor in the LAL

The LAL is located in College Hall, Room 320 (upper level of the Brendlinger Library). The Learning Assistance Lab (LAL) was established in 1987 as an academic support service for students taking classes at the college. The LAL helps students achieve academic success by providing tutoring in course content and study skills, writing workshops, study skills workshops, and computing resources.

All services are free to students and are provided on a drop-in basis. No appointments are necessary. Students are helped in the Tutoring Lab, Computer Lab, and Developmental Studies Lab by peer, paraprofessional, and professional tutors who are specifically familiar with Montgomery County Community College course content and related skills.

To apply for a job as a tutor, complete the Tutor Application and submit a complete transscript.

The Developmental Studies Lab (DSL) offers a computer-based, self-paced learning experience for students who are taking developmental Math, English, and Reading courses at Montgomery County Community College. The DSL is staffed with tutors who assist students with course content and use of the computers and software.
