The most important role of a reader of texts is to locate the main idea.This workshop provides and presents material that will improve your reading strategies and therefore increase your comprehension and strengthen your reading and comprehension abilities.
Oftentimes you will find the main idea in the first or last sentence of the paragraph; however, it may also be found elsewhere in the paragraph. Therefore, signal or transitional words can make it easier for the reader to determine the main idea of the paragraph.
