Robotics Competition

Sat, Nov 21, 2009 starting at 8:00 AM

Physical Education Bldg.

Montgomery County Community College’s Department of Engineering, in partnership with The Weatherly Institute for Robotics and Engineering, is proud to present a Regional Robotics Competition, featuring the game “Hot Shot” on November 21, 2009. The event begins at 8:00AM and runs until a winning Alliance of Robots is crowned. The event will take place on the College’s Central Campus in Blue Bell, PA, in the Physical Education building. This competition is designed for those who want to compete head to head in Engineering and Science, using a sports model. Teams of up to 10 students compete in an alliance format against other teams.
Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principals. Awards are given for the competition as well as for community outreach, design and other real world accomplishments. For more information on this year’s competition challenges, see the First Tech Challenge Website and check out Hotshot.
Please come out and join us to see high school students “show their stuff” in robotics-based Science and Engineering competition. For more information on the event, contact William Brownlowe, Associate Professor of Engineering at 215-641-6644 or wbrownlowe@mc3.edu or Joanne Behm, Director of Lifelong Learning Programs at 215-641-6488 or jbehm@mc3.edu.
