Montgomery County Community College now offers a free Blackboard Mobile™ Learn app that will bring interactive teaching and learning to smartphones.
According to Blackboard Inc., Montgomery County Community College is the only community college licensing Blackboard Mobile™ Learn in the five-state region of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.
Recognizing the popularity of smartphones and iPads among students, the College invested in this convenient technology option as a way to further support students’ success in the classroom and beyond.
The Blackboard Mobile™ Learn app provides easy access to assignments, announcements, grades, podcasts and discussion boards on Blackboard. With the mobile app, students can stay informed and up to date by checking Blackboard—anytime, anywhere—by using their smartphones.
"As a student who is constantly on the go, I rely on my cellphone as a primary source of communication -- especially when taking multiple courses,” said Joshua Schwartz, who served as a student representative on the College’s Information Technology All-College Committee. “The Blackboard Mobile™ Learn app has made it possible to check in on discussion boards, find out when assignments are due, and even check my grades for a class! The new mobile app has definitely kept me in the loop while I'm on the go."
Faculty can easily and conveniently post assignments and grades, interact with student discussions and place announcements. Any updates, loaded via computer or mobile device, will seamlessly sync with the content in the Blackboard Mobile™ Learn app.
The Blackboard Mobile™ Learn app is available for Android™ devices, Blackberry® smartphone devices, HP web OS devices, iPhone®, iPad™ and iPod Touch® on a Wi-Fi connection.
The College’s extraordinary use of technology to help students achieve success has earned it the Tops in Technology award as the most digital savvy community college in the country for the past three years.
