Montgomery County Community College will hold e-Learning information sessions in August designed for current and prospective students to learn more about what to expect when enrolling in e-Learning courses. Academic administrators will also be present to assist students with registration. For more information, contact Dr. Doreen Fisher, Director of e-Learning, at 215-641-6589 or dfisher@mc3.edu.

Sessions will be held at the West Campus, 101 College Drive in Pottstown, on Monday, Aug. 24 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in South Hall room 214. Sessions will be held at the Central Campus, 340 DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell, on Monday, Aug. 31 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Advanced Technology Center room 212.

E-Learning is defined as learning that takes place when instructors and learners are separated by time or space (or both). E-Learning has become increasingly popular in higher education over the last several years because it offers several benefits, including access to education for people removed from a college campus (by distance or health condition) or who are unable to keep a regular schedule because of work or family responsibilities. It provides them the chance to pursue a degree that might otherwise not be attainable.

"Students are encouraged to check out the College's fall online courses, as they offer flexibility around the course, work, and family responsibility," says Dr. Doreen Fisher, Director of e-Learning. "An online course provides students with a quality learning experience while allowing the flexibility to complete and submit course requirements from any computer with Internet access."

Students can currently complete eight associate’s degrees and one certificate at Montgomery County Community College entirely through e-Learning, as well as hundreds of courses in other degree and certificate programs. For more information, visit the College's e-Learning website.
