New Student Athletes Welcomed to Campus

Montgomery County Community College welcomed new student athletes to campus with a special reception on Sept. 8. Attended by College President Dr. Karen A. Stout and other officials, the reception was designed to demonstrate the College’s commitment to its student athletes as the Mustangs prepare to compete in their first season of inter-collegiate play.

The College welcomed a total of 54 new student-athletes for the 2009-2010 season.

Mustangs Head Women's Soccer Coach Tim McNally introduced 11 new players, including Abigail Fairley (Upper Merion), Jeeslyn Heaps (Pottsville), Danielle Lillo (North Penn), Katelyn Martin (Boyertown), Katie Miller (Plymouth Whitmarsh), Syndee Ryan (Plymouth Whitemarsh), Carla Sirak (Ewing), Sarah Tucker (Spring Ford), Stephanie Wasniewski (Souderton) and Lindsay West (North Lebanon).

Mustangs Head Men's Soccer Coach Andy Kelly introduced 14 new players, including Belvin Burgess (Middlebrook), Nicholas Cappa (Upper Moreland), Tom Dempsey (Methacton), Brandon Essrig (Upper Merion), Ahmend Faik (Upper Dublin), Jerry Francois (Cheltenham), Dave Griffith (North Penn), Nick Hulayew (Lansdale Catholic), James Kane (Abington), Ryan Nelson (Wissahickon), Christian Pastor (Souderton),William Rive (France), Patrick Rust (Plymouth Whitemarsh) and Mike Wambold (Upper Moreland).

Head Coach of the Mustangs Women's Basketball Team Kelly Donohue introduced six new players, including Ayana Allen (Abington) Angela Branigan (Plymouth Whitemarsh), Mercedes Harris (Norristown), Jennifer Kopsie (Plymouth Whitemarsh), Janay Winston (Phoenixville) and Lauren Zoltek (Lansdale Catholic).

Head Coach of the Mustangs Men's Basketball Team Denny Surovec introduced seven new players, including Andre Brown (Pottstown), Mike Gear (Methacton), Raymond Green (Methacton), Kyle Haynes (Bartram), Adam Jones (North Penn), Colin Stanton (Souderton) and Tabias Thompson (PET Charter).

Head Mustangs Baseball Coach Lou Lombardo introduced 16 new players, including Jesse Berk (Plymouth Whitemarsh), Dave Byck (Lower Moreland), John Fordyce (Pottsgrove), Nick Guardino (Kennedy-Kennrick), Gary Jabs (Perkiomen Valley), Joe Jurbaia (Methacton), Matt Lancaster (Abington), Ronnie Levan (Pottstown), Tim Maloney (Souderton), Steve McAvoy (Norristown), Sean McHale (North Penn), Ryan Parrish (Pottsgrove), Ed Pasceri (Wissahickon), Ed Skilton, (Kennedy Kenrick), John Trasser (Abington) and Kristian Von-Keil (Emmaus).

The Mustangs are members on the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference and the National Junior College Athletic Association.
