The Montgomery County Community College Mustangs women’s soccer team traveled to Sussex County Community College Monday for a match up against the NJCAA Division I Skylanders.
The Skylanders jumped into the lead early in the game with goals in the fifth and ninth minutes scored by the team’s scoring leader Alyssa Lewis.
The Mustangs fought to shrink the two-point deficit by answering back with a goal by freshman Megan Kelly (North Penn). But the Skylanders remained unfazed scoring three more goals before half time and ultimately winning the game 6-1.
This nonconference loss drops the Mustangs to 6-4. The Mustangs will travel to Middlesex County Community College Wednesday Oct. 7. Game time is 4 p.m.
