Montgomery County Community College’s Mustangs Men’s Soccer Team defeated Salem County College 3-0 during the first scrimmage of the year on Aug. 27. Head Coach Andy Kelly calls the win "a good beginning to the season," but he sees much room for improvement. However, MCCC has added more speed to the team over last year.

Mike Wambold scored the first goal of the game from inside the 18, with an assist from Ahmed Faik. Faik scored the second goal of the game with assist from Ryan Nelson.

The final goal was scored by David Griffith, who was selected as player of the game. Coach Kelly noted that Griffith "worked hard to create space and provided his teammates with the best opportunities to score."

Player Tom Dempsey noted that "for the first time playing together, we really played like a team and communicated well."

The Mustangs will begin their season on Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. against Bucks County Community College at home.
