Welcome From the President

Dr. Karen A. Stout

Welcome to Montgomery County Community College. We invite you to tour our campuses virtually through the lens of our new website. This site represents a collaboration of all College departments and divisions with the goal of best serving our end user—you. Through our new site, we provide access to the complete spectrum of College offerings to meet the needs of our students and our community for academic achievement, personal enrichment, and workforce development.

The College prides itself on innovation. Through our commitment to technology, we have been able to streamline learning and student services, collaborate with industry and create program models and best practices that have been acclaimed nationally. In 2008, the College was ranked the Number One technologically advanced community college in the country by the Center for Digital Education. Beyond the enhancements you will uncover on our new website, we offer more than 150 e-learning courses, 135 smart classrooms, and 40 computer lab classrooms. As a student, you can borrow a laptop from the library or use cyber stations throughout our campuses to access College news, student life activities, College-sponsored email and the Internet.

Reliance on technology will never replace the value of human interaction. Nothing is more vital to the learning process. By blending technology with traditional teaching and learning, we are striving to exceed what is possible through either medium alone. In the future, colleges will be increasingly challenged to offer the right blend of the personal and the technological to meet individual learning styles.

We invite you to become a part of our educational and cultural community and be immersed in our philosophy of thinking Big. Please visit our campuses in person or online and experience for yourself the impact that Montgomery County Community College has on the region and the lives of those who live here.
