Social Sciences

This field of study prepares students to transfer to four-year colleges or universities in majors such as psychology, history, political science, sociology, anthropology, or geography. These disciplines all share a concern with people and the many fascinating ways they interact and influence each other – whether in families, in political systems, or in whole societies. Students majoring in social sciences have gone on to careers in law and government, in teaching and in fields such as counseling and social work. Students majoring in social sciences can hold a concentration in the areas of geography, history and psychology. Many also pursue careers in business. The skills of analytical thinking and clear communication students develop in the social sciences can serve as a strong preparation for virtually any profession. Graduates of the program have transferred to a wide range of four-year institutions.
