At Montgomery County Community College we offer a diverse selection of opportunities for individuals who are interested in joining the advanced manufacturing and logistics workforce, and for incumbent workers seeking to advance their skills. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Center for Workforce and Information Analysis manufacturing is one of the largest industries in Pennsylvania providing close to 170,000 jobs for workers. Projections indicate that manufacturing and logistics will generate over 4,500 jobs annually between 2008 and 2018. There is significant demand for these occupations based on 2010 High Priority Occupations projections from Pennsylvania’s Workforce Investment Boards as well as data from Economic Modeling Specialists, Inc. (EMSI). The Pennsylvania Center for Advanced Manufacturing Careers reports employers reveal that they are having trouble finding qualified candidates for such positions due to skills shortages.
We are proud of our Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Continuing Education Programs and invite individuals who have a strong desire to gain knowledge and skills for employment in these high demand occupations to explore our programs.
