Industrial Electrical Technician

Purpose

This program is designed to develop the knowledge and skills used in today's advanced manufacturing facilities. It is designed to prepare students for an entry-level position in this high-demand field.

Program Description

In this 120-hour program, students will learn fundamental knowledge and skills electrical systems. Topics include electrical circuits, electrical measurement, transformers, relay controls, electrical motors, motor controls, control system wiring, electronic sensors, electro-fluid power, commercial wiring, industrial electrical wiring and industrial power distribution.

Primary Goals

Upon successful completion, students will have gained fundamental knowledge and skills to maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems used in advanced manufacturing.

Consideration for Industry Certification

Students who successfully complete all modules will qualify for the Industrial Electrical Technician certificate issued by Montgomery County Community College.

Prerequisite

Attainment of a level 4 in reading, math and locating information on the KeyTrain assessment exams.

Recognition of Completion

A certificate of program completion will be awarded by the College.
