Industrial Mechanical Technician

Purpose

This program is designed to develop the knowledge and skills used in today's advanced manufacturing facilities. It is designed to prepare students for an entry-level position in this high-demand field.

Program Description

In this 162-hour program, students will learn fundamental knowledge and skills in mechanical systems. This program includes an online content that is available to the student 24/7. Instructors are available to guide and assist students throughout the course in the lab. Program will be held at North Montco Technical Career Center where students will be provided hands on labs with both theory and practical experiences throughout the course.

Primary Goals

Upon successful completion, students will have gained fundamental knowledge and skills to maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems used in advanced manufacturing. Topics include mechanical drives, v-belts, chain drives, gear drives, shaft drives, lubrication, shaft alignment, couplings, piping, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Prerequisite

Attainment of a level 4 in reading, math and locating information on the KeyTrain assessment exams.

Recognition of Completion

A certificate of program completion will be awarded by the College.
