Warehouse and Logistics Technician

Purpose

The purpose of this program is to prepare individuals to manage and coordinate various responsibilities in the receiving, shipping, storage, inventory control, record keeping, and distribution of various products and materials. Warehouse operations and packaging techniques will also be covered, along with related documentation required in the logistics field.

Program Description

In this 90-hour Warehouse and Logistics Technician program, students will receive comprehensive instruction using the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) curriculum, supplemented by a 10-hour OSHA safety course. Students will additionally receive forklift operator training. The program will prepare participants to be frontline material handling workers in supply chain logistics. Participants will learn about the warehouse and logistics environment, safety and quality control principles. This program will be held partially on the Blue Bell campus as well as at North Montco Technical Career Center where students will be provided hands on labs with both theory and practical experience throughout the course. Job placement assistance is provided.

Primary Goals

Upon successful completion, students will have a working knowledge of all aspects of basic logistics and supply chain management and operations, based upon the MSSC curriculum.

Consideration for Industry Certification

Upon successful completion, students will be able to sit for the MSSC, Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) and the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certification exams. Individuals will also take their forklift and OSHA 10-hour for industry certifications.

Prerequisite

Attainment of a level 4 in reading, math and locating information on the KeyTrain assessment exams.

Recognition of Completion

A certificate of program completion will be awarded by the College.
