Automotive Technology

Automotive service technicians inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks. Training for this career provides a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practice. Automotive service technicians held 773,000 jobs nationally and the occupation is expected to grow by 14 percent through 2016. The College offers off-site training through the Central Campus at MACS Center in Lansdale and through the West Campus at Pottstown High School. The College offers both an Associate’s degree and a one-year certificate in this field.

Credit

AAS degree in Automotive Technology is a two-year program. Program completers are job ready as state-of-the-art automotive technicians.

Automotive Certificate is a 38-credit hour program that prepares students for entry level trainee positions.

Non-Credit

A course—Automotive Electronics and an Enhanced Emissions Inspector Recertification program is available through the Division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education.
