Biological scientists study living organisms and their relationship to the environment. Many work in research and development. Graduates with a bachelor’s degree may start as biological scientists in testing and inspection. Some work as research assistants, laboratory technicians, or high school biology teachers.
Biological scientists hold more than 87,000 jobs nationwide. In addition, many biological scientists hold biology faculty positions in colleges and universities. Employment of biological scientists is projected to grow 9 percent over the next decade as biotechnological research and development continues to drive job growth.
AS degree in Biological Sciences will allow you to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree.
