Biotechnology

Today, many biological scientists are involved in biotechnology, particularly in the field of genetics and genome research. This work contributes to the discovery of genes associated with specific diseases and inherited health risks. Advances in biotechnology have created research opportunities in almost all areas of biology, with commercial applications in medicine, agriculture, and environmental remediation.

Montgomery County Community College has several credit options for students.

Credit

AAS degree in Biotechnology, Biomanufacturing, and Molecular Techniques is a 65-credit hour program that prepares graduates for entry level work as a technician in the pharmaceutical industry and other fields.

AAS degree in Biotechnology, Biomanufacturing, and Molecular Techniques—Nanobiotechnology Option

AS degree in Biotechnology, Biomanufacturing, and Molecular Techniques will allow you to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree.
