Computer scientists and database administrators are projected to be one of the fastest growing occupations over the next decade. The rapid and widespread use of computers and information technology has generated a need for highly trained workers proficient in various job functions. These computer specialists include computer scientists, database administrators, and network systems and data communication analysts.
Montgomery County Community College offers many credit and non-credit options in this field.
AS degree in Computer Science will allow you to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Information Technology AS
The College has several career programs in Computer Networking. You can pursue an AAS degree in Computer Networking that will allow you to pursue certification in a choice of networking systems. You can select a career as a computer support specialist or a network administrator. The College also offers a one-year Certificate in Computer Networking, a Computer Networking Specialty Certificate, and a Computer Information Systems Specialty Certificate.
Students may also pursue careers in Web Design and Development AAS. The College also offers a one-year Certificate in Web Design and Development, and a Specialty Certificate in Web Development.
The Division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education offers several non-credit computer training programs including:
A+ PC Hardware and Software Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Cisco Certified Network Associate Security Cisco Certified Network Associate Voice Fiber Optic Cabling Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) Microsoft Office (MO) Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Plus MAC/Apple Operating System and general computer courses.
