Engineering

Engineers apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between scientific discoveries and the commercial applications that meet societal and consumer needs.

Montgomery County Community College offers programs of study to prepare students for transfer to 4-year schools of engineering as juniors as well as careers in a variety of industries including medical products, architectural and mechanical design, aerospace, automotive manufacturing, public utility systems, civil engineering, environmental services, biopharma and food processing.

Employment of engineers is expected to grow by 11 percent over the next decade, but growth will vary by specialty. Environmental engineers should experience the fastest growth, while civil engineers should see the largest employment increase.
