Environmental scientists use their knowledge of the physical makeup and history of the Earth to protect the environment, study the properties of underground and surface waters, and locate energy resources.
Most entry-level environmental scientists and hydrologists spend the majority of their time in the field, while more experienced workers perform office or laboratory work. There are about 92,000 environmental scientists in the United States and employment is expected to grow faster than average.
AS degree in Environmental Science will allow you to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree in this exciting field.
Through our Division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education, we offer, by approval of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification program.
