Medical Laboratory Technician

Medical Laboratory Technicians play a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Lab technicians hold more than 319,000 jobs nationwide. More than half of the jobs are in hospitals. Employment of clinical laboratory workers is expected to grow 14 percent during the next decade, faster than average for all occupations, as the volume of laboratory tests continues to increase due to population growth and the development of new types of tests.
