Social scientists study all aspects of society. Their research provides insights in the ways individuals, groups and institutions make decisions, exercise power and respond to change. Social science fields include anthropology, geography, history, political science, sociology, economics and psychology. Most careers in the social sciences require advanced degrees, although people with bachelor’s degrees can be employed as research assistants, writers, management trainees or market analysts. More than 40 percent of social scientists are employed by government and the field is expected to see an average rate of growth—about 10 percent—over the next decade.
AA degree in Social Sciences will provide a broad background across the social science spectrum and allow you to transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a bachelor’s degree.
