Software Engineering

Computer software engineering is one of the fastest growing occupations. These IT professionals apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems. Computer software engineers hold more than 857,000 jobs nationwide. Employment is projected to increase by 38 percent over the next decade—much faster than average for all occupations. This career will generate about 324,000 new jobs over the next decade, one of the largest employment increases of any occupation.

Credit

Software Engineering Certificate is an abbreviated 30-credit program designed to give you employment skills. These credits can be transferred to the AAS degree program in Computer Systems. We also offer a Software Engineering Specialty Certificate.

Non-Credit

The Division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education offers several certification programs and enrichment programs in Computer Science. In addition to being a certified Apple Authorized Training Center, the Division offers a CISCO Training Academy, a Microsoft IT Academy and courses in Microsoft office, Digital Design and Programming.
