ANT 100 Intro to Physical Anthropology

A general view of the evolutionary emergence of man. The implications and characteristics of human physical diversity as a basis for an understanding of man as a physical organism will be studied.

ANT 104 Intro to Cultural Anthropology

An investigation of human culture and its role in the determination of man's behavior. The relationship of kinship, political, economic and religious institutions within cultural systems, with a particular emphasis upon the operation of these institutions in non-Western societies is examined. This course meets General Education Core Goal 9: Behavioral and; Social Sciences; Core Goal 11: Civic Responsibility; Core Goal 12: Global Perspectives and Diversity; and Core Goal 13: Ethical Reasoning and Behavior

ANT 240 Psychological Anthropology

A one semester course exploring the intersection of Anthropology and Psychology where culture affects human behavior. It challenges our beliefs about human nature by examining cultures with different conceptions of personality, self, perception and cognition, and which mental processes may be universally held. This course will be cross-listed with PSY 240. PSY 101 and ANT 104 are recommended before taking this course.
