Online Support Services

Advising

An outstanding team of Academic Advising professionals are available to meet with you face-to-face or via the telephone to provide you with the information you need to successfully plan your program of study and with online class registration assistance. You can contact an advisor for more information or to setup an advising consultation.

Bookstore

The Bookstore has all your books, supply, and school merchandise needs in one convenient location. If you are local, you purchase your college supplies at either campus or order them online and have them shipped to you. The Bookstore also has many options to fit your needs and budget including renting your textbooks. Your required textbooks are provided via a link in WebAdvisor during the registration process.

Career Services

The Office of Career Services is here to provide you with assistance in all your career-related needs and concerns. We will work with you from your initial career assessment, to career exploration, to developing a career plan. The Office of Career Services has a multitude of online resources available for your use including DISCOVER, a computer-based program that assists students with career planning processes and career choices. In addition, Career Services offers resume writing assistance and allows access to College Central, www.collegecentral.com/mc3, an online job search website that displays available positions, helpful videos, instructive quick reference sheets, and numerous other resources for the student's job search needs. This resource also allows students to upload their resumes directly into a workable environment and collaborate with counselors to assist with making professional resumes. Enrollment Services

The Enrollment Services Department consists of Admissions, Financial Aid, Records and Registration and Student Payments.

Admissions—If you wish to take online classes but have not yet applied for admission to the college please follow our instructions on our Admissions pages.

Financial Aid—Montgomery County Community College participates in most federal and state financial aid programs. We also offer some scholarships through the Montgomery County Community College Foundation. For more information on financial aid assistance, please visit our Paying for College web pages.

Records and Registration—Current students can register for course though the College’s online registration tool in WebAdvisor. Newly admitted students who wish to take online classes may complete the registration during or immediately after a short phone consultation with one of our advising specialists.

Student Payments—Students can pay for any registered courses through WebAdvisor. Please see your other payment options including the College’s Deferred Payment Plan as well as the College’s Tuition Refund Policy.

Health and Wellness—The College recognizes the impact of one’s health and well-being on the ability to be successful in the classroom. The primary focus is on proactive and preventive health related lifestyle behaviors. The Director of Health and Wellness Initiatives provides college-wide leadership in the development, coordination and promotion of health and wellness programs for students and employees. Free informational materials are available online and at both campus locations on a variety of health and wellness topics.

Libraries—The Libraries at Montgomery County Community college have extensive online resources including Ebooks, online articles, government documents, periodical titles, and audiovisual items through the online catalogue, iLink. The library has created many tutorials to help you navigate your online Internet and Database searches and has someone available via our online chat utility during normal business hours. Students with Disabilities—Montgomery County Community College is committed to the success of all students and ensures equal access to its educational programs, services, and activities to our online students with disabilities. The Disability Services Center (DSC) provides support and accommodations for students and resources for faculty and staff. More information, including documentation requirements, is available on the Services for Students with Disabilities website. Prospective online students with disabilities should arrange a consultation with the Director (Blue Bell Campus) or the Coordinator (Pottstown Campus) after applying for admission to the College.

Tutorial Services—The mission of Montgomery County Community College’s Tutorial Services is to serve students who are currently enrolled in academic courses. Tutorial Services helps students develop learning strategies based on their unique learning styles with the goal of creating successful students and independent learners. Tutorial Services has tutoring through Blackboard as well as live, synchronous chat sessions online. We encourage you to call Tutorial Services, to find out more information about the support services they offer to online students.

Technical Support

Once registered, online students experiencing technical difficulties have access to the Technical Help Desk call center and to the Student IT Services Site where they can obtain answers to frequently asked questions regarding technology. Additionally, students may access live support via chat room during prime time hours of operation or they may email their questions directly to a technician.
