How to Apply for Aid

Applying for financial aid is FREE!

The financial aid process all starts with obtaining your federal student aid personal identification number (PIN) and completing your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

If you don’t already have a PIN, apply for one now. While you’ll need to renew your FAFSA each year, your PIN is valid for your entire college career and allows you to:

  • Sign your FAFSA electronically (your parents can sign for you, too) and make online corrections
  • Access your Student Aid Report
  • Sign your Master Promissory Note
  • Access your student loan history on the National Student Loan Data System

If you need help filling out the FAFSA form or have questions, come to one of our FAFSA Completion Workshops.
Once you’ve completed the FAFSA, you’ll want to look at the PHEAA State Grant Program to see if you’re eligible. Once there you can follow the instructions on how to apply for a state grant.
If you would like to apply for any Montgomery County Community College Foundation scholarships, you’ll need to:

  • File your FAFSA by the May 1 deadline date
  • Meet the specific requirements of the scholarship
  • Complete an application through Academic Works
