Next Steps

  • Complete Placement Testing prior to registration, if needed. Students may be eligible for placement test exemptions, based upon SAT, PSSA, or other test scores, as well as high school GPA and/or course work. Please visit Placement Testing Exemption to learn more. Our Placement Testing Center has walk-in testing, Monday-Saturday. Please visit Placement Testing to learn more about test preparation, test center hours, and the testing process.
  • Must attend a New Student Registration Session where you will
    • learn about transitioning to the College;
    • meet with an Academic Advisor; and
    • complete registration.
  • Select a registration session at the campus you will attend.

Please let us know which day you will be attending New Student Registration. You can 'stop-in' during the hours posted but please allow 2.5 hours for completion after arriving at the College.

Other New Students

Before you start classes at the Culinary Arts Institute of Montgomery County Community College you must complete the following steps.

Make an appointment with Cheryl Niedzwiecki, the Culinary Arts Resource Specialist, to register for classes at The Culinary Arts Institute via email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or at 267-646-5976. Make sure to bring your login information for MCCC portal found in acceptance letter with you to your appointment.
  6. If you have successfully completed a culinary arts or baking/pastry arts program at a technical high school, bring a copy of the SOAR agreement, transcript, program task list and a copy of your ServSafe certificate to your appointment for registration. This is extremely important so that you receive the college credits associated with your technical culinary arts or baking/pastry arts program.
  7. Attend appointment with Cheryl Niedzwiecki at the Culinary Arts Institute and get a copy of your schedule and invoice for your classes.
  8. Go to Web Advisor in the MCCC portal and click on Class Schedule and Textbooks under Academic Profile to see what books are needed for your classes. Purchase required books, uniform and knife kit (either Culinary or Baking/Pastry) at the MCCC Bookstore.
  9. Please go to Web Advisor in the MCCC portal under Financial Information to check your current balance or to make payments online.
  10. Go to Enrollment Services at MCCC to take photo for identification card and obtain a parking sticker. Bring picture ID and valid auto registration with you.
  11. Attend the Welcome Day/Orientation at Central or West Campus of Montgomery County Community College. Click on All New Students at the bottom of this page for the dates and times.
  12. Attend the New Student Orientation at the Culinary Arts Institute. Click on Culinary Arts Institute Students below All New Students for the dates and times. It is very important to attend this informational session so that you are prepared to begin your education at the Culinary Arts Institute of Montgomery County Community College.

As an ESL (English as a Second Language) student you may need to complete placement tests. Please visit Placement Testing for exemptions and testing information. Please call 215-641-6577 to schedule an advising and registration appointment with Dilek Arig, Academic Advisor at Central Campusl; or call 610-718-1906 at West campus. ESL students do not need to complete a New Student Registration session.
Guest students register for classes via the guest student application. Guest students do not need to complete New Student Registration. Please visit Guest Application to learn more.
Transfer students (those who successfully completed a college course at another institution) are not required to attend New Student Registration. You will need to call 215-641-6577 (Central Campus) or 610-718-1906 (West Campus) to schedule a registration appointment.

  • Send an official transcript from your prior institution(s) to the Testing Center or upload the documents via Testing Documents Upload.
  • May need placement testing. Please reference the above link for test exemption information.

  • All new students attending Montgomery County Community College Virtual Campus for the first time who have not earned any college credits at a higher education institution must complete the New Student Online Orientation and the post survey. You will need at least one (1) hour in order to complete it. You MUST complete all of it to receive credit for completing this orientation. When you finish, email your advisor directly! Please choose your advisor from the Central Campus list ONLY.

    All New Students and Parents are invited to attend New Student Welcome Day/Orientation. Please join us to tour your campus, meet other students, find out about financial aid and free resources to assist you in your first semester, learn about Mustang athletics, student clubs and organizations, and pick-up your FREE student planner! Welcome Day is for New Students registered for spring, 2015.

    Culinary Arts Institute students are required to attend the Culinary Arts Institute Orientation at the CAI in Lansdale (1400 Forty Foot Road) and the New Student Welcome Day Orientation at either the Central or West Campus.
