New Student Orientation and Registration

All new students attending Montgomery County Community College for the first time who have not earned any college credits at a higher education institution must attend one of our New Student Orientation and Registration sessions in order to register for classes. There are two options for completing this required step: Online or On-Campus.

Prior to attending a New Student Orientation and Registration session, whether Online or On-Campus, you must also have completed the following.

  • the Placement Tests unless you have AP, CLEP, PSSA, ACT, SAT, or PSAT scores that meet the minimum college-level requirements. Visit our Testing and Placement page for details on placement testing and testing exemption options. Placement testing exemptions must be submitted to the Testing and Placement Center prior to attending a New Student Orientation and Registration session.
  • the Pre-Advisement Survey.

Exemptions from New Student Orientation and Registration

  • Transfer students (you have enrolled at a college before and have earned college credits)
  • ESL students (you have taken the English as a Second Language placement test)
  • International students (F1)

If you meet any of the exemption criteria above, call Central Campus (215) 641-6577 or West Campus (610) 718-1906 for information on the next steps for registration.
