1098-T Tax Information

The 1098-T form is intended to assist you in the preparation of your federal income tax return. By January 31 of the following year, MCCC will prepare and send an IRS Form 1098-T to all students who had qualified tuition and other related educational expenses billed to them during the previous calendar year. This form is informational only and should not be considered as tax opinion or advice. Your accountant, tax preparer, or the Internal Revenue Service www.irs.gov can best advise you in the utilization of this form when preparing your taxes.

If your personal records disagree with the amount of qualified tuition and related expenses it is because MCCC is reporting numbers on its tax form using registration information, and not cash payments for tax. MCCC reports the amount billed during the calendar year, BOX 2. Please verify that you are comparing billed charges not payments.

The Forms will be mailed by January 31 of the following year. You may also receive the 1098-T via your WebAdvisor Account.
