Placement Testing for International Students

All new students admitted to MCCC are required to take the placement tests in English, Mathematics and Reading. We also offer English as a Second Language (LOEP test) and mathematics for those students who may be eligible. Only the students who have an associate, bachelor or a master degree from a US university or a college may be exempt from the placement testing.

In order to take the placement test students should call 215-641-6646 to get an appointment or visit our placement test site to find out more information.

English as a Second Language Placement Testing

LOEP computerized English as a Second language Placement Test covers 3 different areas:

  1. Reading comprehension
  2. Grammar skills
  3. Language Usage

After completing the LOEP placement test, students will be asked to write a short essay about a given topic. The LOEP Placement test is not timed, and students are allowed to take it twice before they start taking courses.
