Application Process
The College awards scholarships through the Montgomery County Community College Financial Aid Office. Although each scholarship has specific criteria for eligibility, all students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Please note the following:
$$—requires demonstrated financial need determined by the FAFSA application
X—additional information needed from student
Generally, recipients are selected by a committee during the summer preceding the fall semester that the student should be registered for by May 1. The Financial Aid Office will send an award letter to the students. Generally, if students are registered by May 1 for the coming fall semester, they will hear about their award status from the selection committee in the summer. Awards are distributed equally between two semesters, unless indicated otherwise. Students should be sure they are accepted in the correct major/program of study at Montgomery County Community College.
Students may conduct their own scholarship search online at: www.fastweb.com. The Financial Aid Office also has available for student research an updated scholarship book with scholarships offered by other agencies.
