Facilities/Maintenance Department

The Facilities Maintenance Department at Montgomery County Community College consists of 16 full time employees and a building supervisor. These employees are multi-skilled in trades consisting of Electric, Carpentry, Locksmith, Painting, Sign-making, HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanics, Mail, Shipping and Receiving, and Grounds. Using state of the art equipment, these employees take care of all the Colleges needs in accordance with all state and local codes. The building maintenance supervisor reports to the Director of Facilities Management and is responsible for all the functions of the department.

The maintenance department personnel are responsible for maintaining and repairing all equipment on the 190 acre campus including structural repairs, delivery of the mail, and care of the grounds. The certified HVAC technicians also maintain and monitor the Central Chiller plant and the computerized building automation system to ensure comfortable temperatures throughout the campus buildings.

The grounds employees are responsible for all snow removal and grass cutting on campus. They also trim, manicure, and plant trees, shrubs, bushes, and flowers throughout the entire campus.

The Facilities/Maintenance office is located on the main level of College Hall at the Central Campus. There are two maintenance shops at Central Campus; one is located at the Central Chiller plant and the other at the Facilities Management Building.
