Nomination Criteria

The Alumni Association Board of Directors accepts nominations of distinguished alumni in the following areas.

Business Leadership — a professional whose occupational achievements and organizational leadership have served as an example to other business professionals.

Health Care — a physician, dentist, pharmacist, nurse, or licensed allied health professional whose clinical achievements have demonstrated compassionate, innovative treatment for their patients.

Community Service — a recognized community volunteer whose time and talents have improved the operations of a non-profit organization.

Community Safety — a member of the local or national law enforcement community (including police officers, detectives, fire professionals and emergency services personnel) whose service record has been recognized as exemplary.

Education — a professional educator and/or administrator whose educational approaches have been recognized as innovative and effective. Nominee must be currently employed in an accredited teaching institution in a preschool, elementary, secondary or higher educational setting.

Performing or Fine Arts— an individual who has distinguished themselves in the arts.

The Board will also consider candidates in careers not listed in the above categories. To nominate someone (including yourself!), you’ll need to fill out an online form that includes:

  • the candidate’s full name
  • years attended (or graduated from) the College
  • a description of your relationship to the candidate
  • specific examples of the candidate’s achievements
  • any additional information (i.e., the candidate’s resume, third-party references or press clippings) that you believe would be helpful in the selection process
