On Monday, March 6, the Faculty and Staff of MCCC will be continuing their own acts of kindness. You, more than anyone, know the difference that a college education makes. As members of the College community, you recognize the many barriers and obstacles, including financial challenges that our students face to accomplish their dreams of achieving a college education. Your participation says you believe in the College and the dreams of its students. No matter how big or small, let’s show our students and community our “Kindness Counts.”
How Your Kindness Helps
Did you know that in FY16, the Foundation gave $1,255,997 to the College, thanks to the kindness of donors, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members?
- $603,557 for Scholarships, Award, and Loans for Students
- $463,861 for Student Success Programs
- $45,246 for Cultural Arts Programs
- $32,668 for Faculty Support and Lecture Programs
- $110,665 for Other Various Purpose such as Athletics, Facility Enhancement, and Unrestricted Giving
Why do hundreds of College faculty and staff members give to the Foundation? The answers are diverse, but they all reflect a sincere belief in the work that’s done here. As a respected member of our faculty or staff, you already make valuable contributions with your energy and efforts. Contributing financially represents an additional vote of confidence in our future and a way to share your sense of partnership and pride.
Small gifts, large impact
Your participation is more important than the size of your donation; typically 60% of all faculty and staff gifts to the College have been in amounts of less than $100. High levels of participation in internal giving indicate healthy community involvement, which influences legislative support and large corporate and foundation gift requests.
Designating your gift
You are encouraged to give to departments or programs that are meaningful to you. We have suggested the most popular giving designations on the giving form, but feel free to use the “other” option if you would like support another department or program. You can give to up to two designations.
Your donation is 100% tax deductible. Although the College operates on a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30), your donation during a given calendar year is completely tax deductible.
Matching gift options
Matching gifts are an easy way to double the impact of a donation. To find out if your spouse’s employer has a matching gift program, please contact the Foundation office or the company’s Human Resources office.
You may give by check, credit card or payroll deduction.
Payroll deductions allow College employees to have their donation automatically deducted from their paycheck. This is an easy way to spread your gift over a period of time. Just a few dollars from each paycheck can really add up! Below are some examples of payroll deduction totals.
