Bridge to College Summer Program

This program is a customized 6-week summer dual enrollment opportunity for students with High Functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other special needs. Bridge to College program provides a wideranging and comprehensive “prepare for college” learning experience on a college campus. Students will have access to the College’s facilities including the cafeteria, library, campus bookstore, and tech lab. The Bridge to College program is structured to offer two sections. John Hopkins Engineering Innovation Program

Montgomery County Community college will be offering the John Hopkins Engineering Innovation Program this summer from June 23 - July 24, 2014. It is an intensive 5-week program for academically talented high school students having an aptitude in math and science. Students will be trained to think and problem-solve like an engineer through lab work, group projects, lectures and assignments. They will be challenged to apply their math and science knowledge to practical projects, and see theoretical classroom concepts come alive. This will also give them an opportunity to earn college credit at John Hopkins University or transfer in as credits at Montgomery County Community college. Mustangs Camps

The College Mustangs athletics department sponsors two types of camp during the summer months. The Mustangs Summer Day Camp is a nine-week long day camp which provides community members a safe, fun space for children to play, learn and grow during summer vacation. The Mustangs Sports Camps are week- long sport training camps, run by the NJCAA Mustangs coaching staff, which give children the opportunity to learn a new sport, enhance their performance and excel in their athletic pursuits. CAI Summer Culinary Academy

The Culinary Arts Institute of Montgomery County Community College is offering a one-week culinary academy to students, ages of 14-17 who are interested in the field of culinary arts and baking. This academy is taught by instructors who teach at CAI and have years of industry experience. Students will experience hands-on classes that will expose them to the opportunities that the culinary field has to offer. They will also be taught valuable management and communication skills that are essential for any career path. The culmination of this class will be a presentation and sampler menu planned and created by the students. Green STEM Science Camp

Montgomery County Community College will hold a five-day Green STEM Camp for select Pottstown area middle school students on June 25, 26, 29 and 30 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and July 1 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The program is free to qualifying students thanks to generous funding by TD Charitable Foundation. Participants will learn the basic concepts of scientific methodology and data analysis through hands on activities while working with students and faculty from the College’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) programs.
