The Choral Society of Montgomery County invites you to join them as they embark on their 27th Season. Founded in 1982, CSMC has striven to fulfill its mission of providing artistic excellence and musical diversity through concert performance and choral music education.
This adult ensemble enriches the cultural palate of Montgomery County and the Delaware Valley with the support of its underwriter, Montgomery County Community College. Repertoire reflects the entire spectrum of choral literature, covering the Renaissance to the contemporary, from sacred masses and opera to folksongs and spirituals. Major works have included:
- Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach
- Carmen by Georges Bizet
- Carmina Burana by Carl Orff
- The Creation by Franz Joseph Haydn
- Gloria by Francis Poulenc
- Magnificat by Johann Sebastian Bach
- Messiah by George Frederic Handel
- Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
- Vespers of 1610 by Claudio Monteverdi
Throughout CSMC's 26 seasons, the ensemble has been recognized for its artistic achievement locally and internationally. In addition to performances at the college and in venues across the Delaware Valley, the group has toured the former Soviet Union, Australia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Wales.
