Thursday, March 12, 2010 at 8 PM in Blue Bell
With a pinch of Monty Python, a dash of SNL, and a generous helping of Samuel Beckett, Madhouse brings its unique comic style back to Montgomery County Community College. Known for its sellout late night shows in Philadelphia, it’s interesting experimental comedy in many Philly Fringe Festivals, and now a staple and audience favorite in the Summer time ten minute play festival, SPARK, Madhouse proves again and again that comedy comes in many colors and sometimes with live rock-n-roll!

Mary Lou Williams
Resurgence Project
Friday, March 26, 2010 at 8 PM
Celebrate Women’s History Month and the 100 Anniversary of one of America’s greatest jazz composers!
Mary Lou Williams was an American jazz stride pianist, composer, and arranger. Williams wrote hundreds of compositions or arrangements, and recorded over a hundred records. She wrote and arranged for such greats as Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman, and was friend, mentor, and teacher to Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, and Dizzy Gillespie. She is probably the most influential woman in the history of jazz. This tribute concert features an all-star big band, small ensemble, and chorus performing a selection of Ms. Williams compositions led by Artistic Director/Arranger/and Vibraphonist Cecilia Smith and assistance conductor Cecil Bridgewater along with featured soloist Amina Claudine Myers on piano.
