Writers Conference

Michael Chabon

November 5 and 6, 2010

This year's keynote speaker at the annual MCCC Writers Conference will be Michael Chabon, the Pulitzer Prize and Hugo Award winning author of Wonder Boys, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, and The Yiddish Policemen's Union. Chabon's work spans multiple genres, including traditional fiction, science fiction, detective fiction, young adult fiction, short stories, comic books, screenplays, and essays. Two of his novels, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and Wonder Boys, have been made into films, and the Cohen Brothers currently are developing The Yiddish Policemen's Union for the big screen. His work is characterized by a literary yet accessible style and touches on a range of themes, including gender, sexual identity, Jewish heritage and history, and more.

Chabon will deliver his keynote address on Friday, November 5, 2010, as part of the annual MCCC Writers Conference. This two-day event will include workshops and presentations by regional writers from a range of genres, as well as provide working and aspiring writers the chance to meet with literary agents.

Check back this summer for a complete schedule of events and registration information.
