How do I register for the conference?
After 10/23/09, anyone wishing to register for the conference will need to register as a walk-in. Those who are interested in Saturday events should come to the Science Center on 11/7/09 to register. Registration fees can be paid in cash, with check, or by credit card at the registration desk.

Can I purchase tickets for Maxine Hong Kingston’s presentation
only?
Yes. Call the Office of Cultural Affairs 215-641-6518 to purchase
tickets for Maxine Hong Kingston ONLY.
Will any Writers Conference events take place at the Pottstown Campus?
The Writers Conference will take place in the Science Center at the Blue Bell Campus. However, there will be a free simulcasts of select events.
To attend the FREE simulcasts at the Pottstown Campus, you do not need to register. Go directly to the event locations. Volunteers will be there to assist you.
On Friday, November 6, 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the free simulcast of the Maxine Hong Kingston Keynote Speech will be at the Pottstown Campus, Room 216.
Will I receive notification that my registration was received?
Yes, all conferees registered by 10/23 will receive a registration packet in the mail. Please bring this packet on 11/6 and 11/7
as proof of purchase.
I would like to have an appointment with an agent. How do I sign-up?
Until all agent appointments are filled, appointments are on a first come-first served basis for pre-registered
conferees only. If you register for the conference before 10/23, a conference representative will contact you before 11/6 to set up your appointment.. If you have not pre-registered, you are not eligible to sign-up for
an appointment with an agent.
May I bring my manuscript to the appointment with the agents?
Please do not bring manuscripts for the agents to read. If the agent specifically asks you to send him/her the manuscript, please feel
free to do so after the conference. The appointments at the conference
are 5 minutes each. It would be best for you to condense your material
to a brief outline or proposal so that you make the best of your time.
Conferees who register before 10/23 will have lunch included in
their registration price. If I register for the conference after 10/23,
will I be able to get lunch?
Yes. Conferees who register after 10/23 may purchase a lunch ticket
at the registration table on 11/7. This lunch ticket will be $10.
Can faculty, staff, students, or community members attend Saturday’s
events free of charge?
Yes. Faculty, staff, students and community members can acquire free
admission to Saturday’s events by volunteering to help with
the conference. Volunteers are required to perform 5 hours of work
before the conference and 2 hours during the conference to be eligible
for free admission to Saturday’s events.
How can I volunteer for the conference?
Faculty, staff, students, and community members can volunteer for
the conference by filling out a volunteer form. These are available
by emailing writersconf@mc3.edu.
If I am a full-time faculty member, can I get CTL credit toward
the conference?
Yes. Up to a maximum of one CTL credit is available for those who
attend at least six hours of the event on Saturday. An additional
0.25 credit is available for the Friday evening event. Faculty must
submit the off-campus activity form to the CTL to receive 0.25 credit
for the Friday evening event. To receive one credit for the Saturday
events, faculty members need only to register with the CTL.
Aside from volunteering hours, how can I contribute to the development of this year's conference?
Financial contributions from individuals and businesses will be accepted. A low cost sponsorship could subsidize the tuition of less fortunate students and increase your visibility in the community through our sponsorship booklet. Flexible donation options are available.
